NEW: The Power of Art History surveys the entire history of art using visual connections to find common threads across cultures and times. This course lets students personally engage with art history in a different way. From this they are empowered to enjoy and understand art first-hand. STUDIO TEACHING - I offer small group lessons for teens and adults in my Cambridge studio and online via Zoom. Teen students have earned Scholastic Art honors, including Gold and Silver Keys for painting. Adult students have gone on to enroll in top undergraduate and graduate art programs, including VCUArts and Tufts' School of the Museum of Fine Arts. Painting instruction is offered in all color media including collage. Virtual Gallery Drawing on Zoom recreates the experience of my museum classes, with fair use images of masterpieces of world art as inspiration. MUSEUM TEACHING - I teach teens and adults year-round for the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. I'm one of five instructors to help relaunch MFA studio art classes, now offered in-person and online via Zoom. I belong to the Greater Boston Museum Educators Roundtable. GUIDED ART EXPERIENCES - I lead group and collaborative art-making activities for work groups, friends, families and other groups in a variety of settings. Clients including Tufts University, The National Art Educators Association, Nave Gallery, Longy School of Music and the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. Learn more here.

*REMOTE LESSONS - All classes are available remotely via Zoom and emulate the friendly collaborative setting of my studio. Socially distanced studio lessons follow all guidelines and precautions for the current phase of reopening in Massachusetts.
QUALIFICATIONS - I hold a 2015 Masters in Art Education from the Tufts SMFA and Massachusetts DESE License 2717504. Karl Stephan Studio is fully insured.
